Receiving ceremony of making houses from bamboo and nipa palm as national intangible cultural heritage
(QNO) - A traditonal craft of making houses from bamboo and nipa palm in Cam Thanh (Hoi An city, Quang Nam) was awarded a certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage on September 27.
On September 27, the leader of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism presented the National Intangible Cultural Heritage certificate for the craft of building houses from bamboo and nipa palm in Cam Thanh.
To date, Hoi An city has six crafts listed as national intangible cultural heritages, including: Thanh Chau bird nests harvesting, Thanh Ha pottery making, Kim Bong woodworking, Tra Que vegetable cultivation, building houses from bamboo and nipa palm in Cam Thanh, and weaving conical hats in Cu Lao Cham.
