A high-level delegation from Champasak visits THACO.
(QNO) - On the morning of September 27, Alounxai Sounnalath, Governor of Champasak province (Laos), leading the provincial high-level delegation, had a working visit to THACO Chu Lai. Tran Nam Hung, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee, was accompanying the delegation.
At the working session, a representative from THACO Chu Lai presented THACO's growth. In Laos, THACO has invested in a 27,000-hectare agricultural complex in Attapeu and Sekong provinces. THACO has collaborated with Champasak businesses on logistics and cargo transport to Vietnam.
According to Quang Nam Deputy Chairman Tran Nam Hung, the visit was an opportunity for Quang Nam, Champasak, and THACO to promote cooperation. He urged Champasak leaders to facilitate partnerships and support THACO's investment efforts in Champasak.
At the working session, Alounxai Sounnalath encouraged THACO to invest in agriculture in Champasak because of its favourable climate and well-developed irrigation systems.
Besides, with its location on the East-West Economic Corridor with access to Cambodia and Thailand and many scenic spots, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wat Phou, Champasak hoped THACO would expand cooperation in logistics development to transport goods from southern Laos to international markets through Chu Lai Port.
On this occasion, Champasak and THACO exchanged commemorative gifts. The Champasak delegation also visited THACO’s automobile manufacturing and assembly facilities and Chu Lai Port.
