Promote sustainable consumption and production
(QNO) - A national conference on sustainable consumption and production took place in Da Nang city by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on September 19, 2024.
Attending the conference were representatives from the Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development (under Ministry of Industry and Trade), Departments of Industry and Trade from provinces and cities across the country, as well as organizations and businesses in the field of sustainable production and consumption.
From 2021 to 2024, 47 provinces and cities nationwide developed plans for the national program on sustainable consumption and production, with direct support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for two provinces.
At the conference, participants heard presentations on sustainable production, including circular economy practices in various industries, sustainable models in leather and footwear, and challenges and opportunities in the textile sector, etc.
The conference served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable production and consumption. It aimed to implement this orientation from central to local levels, fostering a green, circular economy and environmental protection.
