Promotion of the sustainable development of traditional crafts
(QNO) - Quang Nam has great potential for developing traditional crafts tied to the local cultural essence. There are now 10 recognised traditional crafts and 30 craft villages, which help create jobs, boost incomes, and support local economic development.
Quang Nam is well-known for its long-standing traditional craft villages, including Ban Thach mat, Ma Chau and Dong Yen silk, Phuoc Kieu bronze casting, Kim Bong carpentry, pottery, and brocade weaving. These villages preserve local cultural features and are growing through community-based tourism, which offers hands-on experiences in traditional crafts.
To sustainably develop craft villages and preserve local cultural values, the provincial authorities are implementing various measures to ensure stable markets for products.
At the Quang Nam Traditional Crafts Festival 2024, in addition to showcasing craft villages' products, OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products, notable rural industrial products, regional agricultural products, and local cuisine, there were also discussions on finding solutions for the sustainable preservation and development of traditional crafts.
