(QNO) - Quang Nam and Sekong, as well as the Southern Laos' provinces, have always maintained a strong traditional relationship, contributing to the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Driving force from THACO

According to THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, the corporation is striving to become a multi-sector industrial conglomerate operating in various sectors, including automobiles, agriculture, mechanical engineering, etc.

Besides, THACO is running the USD82 million Nong Khang airport project in Xam Neua district (Houaphanh province, Laos) with 22 flights a week.

Till now, THACO has invested in a large-scale integrated agricultural complex covering over 27,000 hectares in Attapeu and Sekong provinces.

At the same time, the corporation is also implementing logistics projects connecting southern Laos with Chu Lai port and other seaports in Central Vietnam.

THACO hopes to contribute to improving the quality of life and bringing practical values to Laos.

Best conditions for THACO

According to Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, thanks to its key position in the East-West Economic Corridor, linking Central Vietnam with southern Laos through the Nam Giang-Dak Ta Ooc International Border Gate, Quang Nam has recently promoted cooperation with southern Lao provinces, which has achieved significant results.

The development of Quang Nam has greatly benefitted from THACO's support since the provincial re-establishment. Hopefully, the Lao Party and State, especially southern Lao localities, facilitate THACO's investment and growth in Laos.

Sommad Pholsena, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly, appreciated the growing and effective cooperation between Quang Nam and southern Laos, especially THACO's contributions. Sommad Pholsena promised to advocate with the Lao National Assembly, Government, and relevant authorities to facilitate THACO's operations in Laos.

Also according to Sommad Pholsena, Lao authorities will work with Vietnam to promote trade and logistics activities between Quang Nam and southern Laos, enhancing the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
