Strong growth in automobile manufacturing and garment production
(QNO) - In the first eight months of 2024, Quang Nam industrial sector saw impressive growth, increasing by over 30% compared to the same period last year.

Among the industrial sectors, the processing and manufacturing industries led with a growth rate of 30.9% compared to the same period last year, showing the strong development of this sector.
The generation and distribution of electricity also saw remarkable development with a 33% rise.
Over the past eight months, the production of several industrial items has seen noticeable growth, such as a 15.1% raise in car manufacturing and assembly, equivalent to around 47.7 thousand units.
Woven fabrics with a cotton content of 85% or more experience a raise of 14.1%. Garments had a 613.3% increase. Other products, such as tire cord cloth, construction stone, and sewing thread, also saw significant development.
Quang Nam is continuing to implement key policies and projects to promote industrial development, such as the projects on establishing and developing a deep processing industrial centre for silica-based products and encouraging collaboration in production clusters for supporting industries and mechanical engineering in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
Quang Nam is currently quite attractive to investors, as seen by the ongoing review of investment projects like the OBE Vietnam eyeglass hinge manufacturing plant and the FM Sports & Leisure Product bicycle assembly facility at Tam Thang 2 Industrial Park.
Besides, there are some others, such as the Quang Nam Tec Inc tent and camping gear manufacturing plant at lot CN5B of the Doi 30 Industrial Cluster, the Xintechnology Electronics manufacturing plant, and the Grelatek industrial laundry facility project at Que Cuong Industrial Cluster.
