Quang Nam fosters cooperation with Cuba, Laos and Cambodia
(QNO) - Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee, Tran Anh Tuan, played host to Consuls General of Cuba, Laos and Cambodia, Ms. Feo Labrada Ariadne, Mr. Bounmixay Phonesy and Mr. Chan Sorykan respectively, in Ho Chi Minh City on August 24.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Tuan sent his best wishes to Consuls General of Cuba, Laos, and Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, and expressed his honour to receive them in Quang Nam.
At the same time, he affirmed that it was an opportunity for Quang Nam to strengthen cooperation, promote exchange activities, and connect with localities and businesses of Cuba, Laos and Cambodia through the Consulates General of these three countries.
Mr. Tuan also introduced the potential, advantages, geographical location, revolutionary tradition, culture, people, and socio-economic highlights of Quang Nam in recent years.
Currently, the province has 198 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of 6.2 billion USD. In the first 6 months of 2024, the province granted 7 new FDI investment licenses with a total registered capital of 124.24 million USD.
In addition, Quang Nam is inviting 40 non-governmental organizations to collaborate, build partnerships, and make investments with an average yearly investment resource of around 200 billion VND. Since the beginning of this year, nearly 1,000 locals have left for work abroad.
Regarding international cooperation, Quang Nam has cooperative relations with 11 regions in the world. In particular, Quang Nam has established a twin relationship with Sekong province (Laos).
Speaking at the meeting, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, Feo Labrada Ariadne said talking with local leaders and strengthening mutual understanding are extremely important to foster cooperation between Quang Nam and Cuba.
Consul General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, Chan Sorykan, said the trade exchange between businesses of the two countries has been effective in recent years. Several Vietnamese agricultural products have been exported to Cambodia and vice versa.
The Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City will organize a program related to the import and export of agricultural products of the two countries in October 2024. Quang Nam businesses interested in this field will be facilitated to participate in the program.
