Opening ceremony of the Vietnam - South Korea Festival

Reportedly, the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea has achieved significant milestones in almost all areas.

In Danang, South Korean investors have carried out several large projects on ICT, high technology, and automation. They have also actively supported the city to develop the semiconductor industry, microelectronics, artificial intelligence, and high-quality services.

South Korea has become the top international tourist market in Danang for years. In the first six months of 2024, the total number of South Koreans staying in the city reached nearly 823,000, almost matching the total number of South Koreans in Da Nang in 2023.

Kang Boo Sung, South Korean Consul General in Danang, said that in 2023, the bilateral trade volume between Vietnam and South Korea surpassed USD 76.1 billion, making Vietnam the third-largest trading partner of South Korea.

Currently, South Korea is the largest investor in Vietnam, with a cumulative total investment of USD 85.9 billion.

The number of South Korean travellers to Vietnam reached approximately 3.6 million last year. The number of Vietnamese travellers to South Korea is also steadily increasing.

The South Korean Consulate General in Danang, in combination with Danang, will make every effort to expand bilateral cooperation into new areas, such as high-tech industrial cooperation, business, and university partnerships, for mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the future.

The Vietnam - Korea Festival is a valuable opportunity for people from South Korea and Vietnam to gain a deeper understanding and enhance their feelings towards each other.

At the festival, there are 60 booths showcasing information, culture, cuisine, and tourism, along with stage programs featuring both traditional and modern artistic performances from both countries.

The festival will run until August 18th.
