The A Rieu chili festival in Dong Giang
(QNO) - The first A Rieu chili festival in Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province takes placs on August 15 and 16 at the Dong Giang Heaven Gate Ecotourism Area.
The festival is organized by the Dong Giang District People's Committee, with sponsorship from Hang Gop Ecotourism Joint Stock Company, a member unit of FVG Group.
Mr. Do Huu Tung, Vice Chairman of Dong Giang district, said the A Rieu chili festival aims to promote the chili and eco-tourism, boost interest in the Dong Giang Heaven Gate site, and support future tourism connections.
The festival encourages local cooperatives and households to showcase A Rieu chili and other local products, connect supply and demand, and share agricultural experiences and new technologies.
Cultural activities at the festival include: an exhibition of agricultural products and OCOP items, food displays, presentations promoting traditional dishes and A Rieu chili, and drum and gong dance performances with sacred fire.
Additionally, artisans, performers, and athletes from local communes and the Dong Giang Heaven Gate Ecotourism Area will parade and carry the sacred A Rieu chili from the main gate to the Song Ngan Square within the tourism area.
Dong Giang district will also feature sports and traditional games like mountain running, swimming, slingshot shooting, and an A Rieu chili-eating contest with Quang noodles at the festival.
