Da Nang’s efforts to attract tourists from Northeast Asia
(QNO) - The Da Nang Department of Tourism has just held an exchange meeting with local tourism businesses to seek solutions for attracting tourists from Northeast Asian countries, especially South Korea and Japan.
Statistics from the Da Nang Department of Tourism showed that, in the first 4 months of 2024, the number of South Korean visitors to Da Nang reached more than 636 thousand (accounting for 41% of the total international visitors to Da Nang). The number of Japanese visitors reached more than 47.5 thousand (accounting for 3.3%).
These are two markets in the top 10 largest international tourist markets in Da Nang since the beginning of this year.
At the meeting, tourism businesses contributed many ideas and solutions to welcome South Korean and Japanese tourists in the coming time, such as: giving gifts with vouchers to tourists who return to Da Nang several times, organizing thematic tourism products suitable for the South Korean and Japanese markets.
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the city’s tourism industry will soon launch a campaign to thank guests from the South Korean market to attract visitors to return, look for new localities in these two markets for tourism promotion, and create suitable products for MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, Event) or school tourism from the Japanese market.
The Da Nang Department of Tourism is planning to participate in the Tourism Expo 2024 in Tokyo (Japan).
In the third quarter of 2024, the Da Nang Tourism Association and tourism businesses in Da Nang and Quang Nam will coordinate to welcome Japanese travel famtrip groups to survey golf tourism and school tourism.
In addition, there will also be a working meeting with tourism partners in Seoul (South Korea) and a program to introduce Da Nang tourism in Busan (South Korea) this year.
