Vietnam welcomes 8 million visitors in 5-day holidays
(QNO) - According to statistics by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam received about 8 million tourists (including 3.6 million tourists staying overnight) during the five-day holiday from April 27 to May 1, up 14.2% against the same period last year.
Thanh Hoa topped the country with 1.52 million visitors and a revenue of 3.805 trillion VND (152 million USD), followed by Quang Ninh with over 1 million.
Quang Nam province welcomed 233,000 visitors, with a total revenue from tourism reaching 600 billion VND.
During this holiday, the average room occupancy at accommodation establishments nationwide was up to 70%, or even 100% in some coastal destinations.
Notably, the number of international visitors still maintains good growth even though the peak season has passed.
In Quang Nam, although domestic visitors decreased by 19%, international visitors increased by 10% over the same period.
