South Korea, the leading Q1 foreign tourist arrivals to Vietnam
(QNO) - According to the statistics, the number of international tourists to Vietnam reached over 4.6 million in the first quarter of this year, up 72% compared to the same period in 2023.
The number increased by more than 3% compared to the same period in 2019, when the COVID-19 pandemic had not occurred. 2019 was also considered the "golden time" of Vietnamese tourism.
The statistics revealed that South Korea was still Vietnam's largest source of tourists, with a total of more than 1.2 million arrivals, up 10% over the same period in 2019.
Booking.com has announced that Vietnam is among the top 3 most searched destinations in South Korea.
Other large international tourist markets for Vietnam included China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, the US, and Australia.
South Korea was also the largest source of tourists to Quang Nam in the first quarter of 2024.
