Quang Nam leader receives former Japanese Ambassador

(QNO) - Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam People’s Committee, Ho Quang Buu, hosted a reception in the province on March 21 for the former Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Hiroshi Fukada, representatives from Weathernews Inc. (WNI), and the Water Resources Development and Consulting Company (WATEC).

At the reception, Vice Chairman Buu expressed his pleasure to welcome former Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada and other his guests. Buu thanked former Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada for his positive contributions to the good relationship between Japan and Vietnam in general and with Quang Nam in particular.

Mr. Buu also informed his guests of the socio-economic development, culture, and people of Quang Nam.

In reply, Mr. Hiroshi Fukada sent his best wishes to Vice Chairman Buu and other leaders of Quang Nam province. At the same time, he congratulated Quang Nam on its achievements over the past years.

Former Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada said he is supporting Japanese businesses in seeking cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, including WNI, which provides rain forecasting services for natural disaster prevention in Quang Nam.

A WNI representative said that it is a system for monitoring and forecasting rainfall, erratic weather, and warning of natural disasters based on artificial intelligence technology, thereby supporting Vietnam’s localities to mitigate risks caused by natural disasters.

So, Vice Chairman Buu hoped WNI’s weather service would soon be deployed in Quang Nam.

Vice Chairman Buu hoped that Mr. Hiroshi Fukada would continue to act as a bridge for bettering the friendly relationship between Japan and Vietnam, including Quang Nam.
