Potential exploitation

At the meeting, Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori thanked the leaders of Quang Nam province over the past time for helping him complete his assigned tasks.

According to Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori, Quang Nam is always one of Vietnam’s localities chosen by Japanese businesses to promote cooperation and development investment.

Chairman Thanh awarded Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori a certificate of merit recognizing his contribution to the development of Quang Nam.

Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori stated that on the occasion of the upcoming 20th Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange event, the Japanese Government will call on the Japanese business community in Vietnam to actively participate in the event in order to promote exchange and expand investment and cooperation opportunities in Vietnam in general and Quang Nam in particular.

Japanese training

Chairman Thanh highly appreciated Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori's contribution as a "connecting thread" in the process of cooperation and development investment between Quang Nam and Japanese localities and investors.

Thanh said Quang Nam, including Hoi An ancient town is known to have a very long-standing trade relationship with Japanese merchants. Quang Nam people love Japanese culture and history very much, so the limitation of the Japanese language in Quang Nam is unfortunate and needs to be improved in the near future.

Moreover, receiving Japanese language training will help Quang Nam workers do their jobs better in Japan.

Therefore, Mr. Thanh hoped Hoi An would become the largest Japanese language training center in Central Vietnam and Central Highlands. Quang Nam needs support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.

Japanese museum in Hoi An

Chairman Thanh hoped a museum about merchant ships would be built in Hoi An.

It is a place to preserve documents of the trade exchange and the connection between Vietnamese and Japanese merchants, which also helps to promote the image of the people and country of Japan to Vietnamese people and international friends.
