Nearly 20 Italian tourists visiting Hoi An on the first day of 2024 marks an impressive milestone for Quang Nam tourism.

In recent years, Italians have become high-spending tourists who stay longer and are interested in local history, architecture, and culture. Therefore, destinations rich in cultural heritage like Quang Nam are expected to benefit significantly.

E ASIA Travel's branch in Central Vietnam reported significant growth in Italian tourist arrivals, constituting approximately 30% of their customer base in 2023. E ASIA Travel also organized the Italian tourist group's visit to Hoi An at the beginning of 2024.

Italy has been identified as a key and potential market in Vietnam's tourism development strategy, especially since Vietnam and Italy established their bilateral strategic partnership in 2013.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of Italian tourists visiting Vietnam had been increasing steadily, with an average growth rate of 10% to 15% annually.

The visa exemption policy for tourists from certain Western European countries, including Italy, has provided a significant advantage for tourism in Central Vietnam including Quang Nam province.

In January 2024, Hoi An DMC Travel Company successfully organized nearly 10 Italian tourist groups to visit Hoi An ancient town and traditional craft villages like Tra Que vegetable village and Cam Thanh coconut village.

It is expected that the number of Italian and European tourists visiting Quang Nam will increase significantly in 2024.
