A romantic and interesting Lunar New Year Eve is waiting for tourists
(QNO) - Many people want to stay home to welcome or visit friend, relative in the first New Year days. Some go to sightsee beautiful sites or enjoy this wonderful time in remote places. If you want to visit Vietnam, what and where will you spend your free and interesting days of the year of the Horse before entering a year of hard working?

The first destination you should visit is Hoi An city of Quang Nam province. Hoi An city in the Lunar New Year festival will comeback with its traditional space. Coming to this ancient town, you will have an opportunity to enjoy and take part in the Lunar New Year traditional festival. Besides interesting activities such as musical performances, art photos exhibition and trditional sports competitions, if you have good knowledge on Vietnamese language, you can participate the “paralell sentence” writing contest. The “ Spring Flowers Festival” will be opened in Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Hue, Hoang Dieu, Ngo Gia Tu streets on 24th December (Lunar calendar). You can participate the party “Banh Tet for the poor” (Banh tet: cylindic glutinous rice, green bean and porkcake) to help them to have a happy New Year…
You also see the multi-coloured New Year poles grew in the front garden of temples. pagodas and houses- it’s an old custome of the Vietnamese people for preventing the devils, expecting a new happy, lucky and prosperous new year which has just ben restored.
From 22nd December to 15th January of New Year festival, you will go around the city in the evening under the light of colourful latern hung along the streets. Many other interesting activities will be held at the Song Hoai Square in the night of 5th January. You can enjoy a romantic night on the Hoai river by the “Spring boat trip” and explore “Hoi An anient town night – Nguyen Tieu Poem performance night” (Nguyen Tieu: night of the 15th of the first Lunar month) which will be organised in the night of 15th January. Many hotels and resorts in Hoi An will open overnight organise warm and friendly parties to welcome New Year Eve for their clients. You will enjoy a firework performance at An Hoi Statues Garden and Cua Dai in the moment of New Year Eve…
Leaving Hoi An city, we invite you to visit Tam Ky city. The Spring Flowers Festival of this Quang Nam provincial city will be opened on 25th December at the 24th March Square. Other activities such as art and sports performances will made Tam Ky atmosphere more interesting and noisier in the Lunar New Year Eve. Coming here, you can participate “Bai Choi” game, Parallel Setences writing contest, enjoy “Words picture” written by old scholars come from other localities of the province.
