(QNO) - In April, the International Travel website Touropia (touropia.com) selected My Son Sanctuary (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province) as one of 10 most attractive destinations in Vietnam. The other ones are Ha Long Bay, Ha Noi Capital, Hoi An, Hue, Sapa, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh city and the Mekong Delta.
My Son World Cultural Heritage – one of 10 attractive destinations of Vietnam. |
Touropia explained their choice: Most travelers to Vietnam are attracted by the country’s wonderful natural beauty, from the green rice fields in the north to the fascinating bustle of the Mekong Delta in the south. Vietnam, moreover, is also a country with a long history, rich traditions and many others features attractive to visitors. Hoi An Ancient Town was recognised as a World Cultural Heitage by UNESCO. It was an international port in the 16th century. The heart of the city is still the Old Town, full of winding lanes, colourful lanterns and Chinese-styled shops.
My Son Sanctuary is the important archaeological site and is a World Cultural Heritage. It’s an unique architectural relics located in a valley with thick forests surrounded. One of Southeast Asia’s most notable ancient sites, My Son was once a significant center of religious Hindu ceremonies where the kings of the Champa Kingdom built numerous temples devoted to the worship of the god, Shiva, between the 4th and 14th centuries.
