Training in preservation of metal objects in Southeast Asia collections
(QNO) - The training course of metal objects in Southeast Asia collections was held from 2-14 June 2014 at National Museum of Cambodia by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM-an intergovernmental organization dedicated to conservation of cultural heritage worldwide). Participants from 14 countries in Asia including Viet Nam- Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation took part in this course.
The training activity aimed at the history of metal in South East Asia, the environment that impacting directly on metal objects and how to know about the metal objects eroded and rusted and the methods for preservation.
The training course provided more useful knowledge on preserving the bronze metals for professional officers of Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation.
