(QNO) - Over 1,500 players of 9 mountainous region districts of Quang Nam province has taken part in the 8th Quang Nam Mountainous region sports and culture festival which started on 29 July 2014 in North Tra My district.

With the theme “ Festival of Sound”, all participants are competing 6 sport games and some cultural and art performances for civil groups and armed units : football, volleyball, mountain marathon, shooting, strong policeman, exhibition, gong performance, ethnic traditional costume show and pubic art competition…

The traditional wedding ceremonies of the ethnic groups which are introduced in this festival will bring new and strange experience to the visitors.

This festival is also a chance for ethnic groups living in the mountainous regions of Quang Nam province to honour the value of the ethnic cultural heritages, exchange their own colourful and deversified traditional culture and art and promote them to the tourists as well as to enrich the solidarity between them.
The best players in those competitions will be chosen to train and take part in the coming national mountainous region sports and culture festival.
