Hoi An welcomes New Year 2015 and the 1.7 millionth visitor
(QNO) - On December 31st evening, Hoi An World Cultural Heritage jubilantly welcomed New Year 2015 with many interesting cultural and art performances. Despite the rain many foreign and domestic visitors still welcomed New Year’s Eve 2015 in Hoi An old town.

Lanterns lighted every street in Hoi An. Hoi An food festival was held in Nguyen Phuc Chu street. Besides, on the stage in An Hoi statue Garden, oversea bands performed many exciting songs. The FlashMob dance by the youth of Hoi An also attracted many audiences.

Particularly, the program of both Hoi An’s and foreign cultural performances was on the outdoor stage in An Hoi statue Garden to welcome New Year 2015 until the moment of New Year’s Eve. When the clock struck 0:00, Hoi An old town was brilliant with firework performance, applauding and cheering in the sound of the Happy New Year song.

Mr. Truong Van Bay, the Deputy Chairman of Hoi An City People’s Committee said that Solar New Year festival has become popular not only to Western visitors but also to Hoi An local people for the past years. So New Year’s Eve in Hoi An is always attractive to visitors by many interesting cultural programs.

* At 21:00 (of) on Dec. 31st, the 1.7 millionth visitor to Quang Nam was also welcomed on the stage of An Hoi statue Garden. Mr. Nguyen Chin, the Deputy Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee gave gifts to 3 German tourists. They are the 1,699,999th, the 1,700,000th and 1,700,001st visitors.
