Experiences of community-based tourism development
(QNO) - A seminar “How to develop and promote community-based tourism” was jointly held on August 24th in Da Nang city by the Southeast Asia (ASEAN)-Japan Center (AJC) and the PATA Vietnam. The representatives of Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, authority and households in the community-based tourism villages took part in this seminar.
At the seminar, the orators from the AJC, the Foundation for International Development/Relief (FIDR) and the representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, the Federation of Tourism of Myanmar, Japanese experts… shared their experiences of community-based tourism development, the way to manage this tourism model in every country, especially in Japan.
Although there are many differences in management mechanism, finance… in different countries, this seminar helps the localities with the community-based tourism get useful ideas in advertising, attracting tourists, sharing benefits for community as well as paying attention to the model “The Vietnamese beautiful villages”. All aim to develop tourism sustainably.
