Quang Nam hopes to receive more cruise ship passengers
(QNO) - The number of cruise ships passengers to port cities such as Da Nang and Hue is increasing. This creates an opportunity for Quang Nam tourism.

As a general rule, on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, two cruise ships (Superstar Libra and Super Star Virgo) of Chinese Star Cruises agency with a capacity of 1,500 passengers a ship enter Tien Sa port, Da Nang city. The tourists are picked up by Saigontourist travel agency to visit Da Nang city, Hoi An city and My Son Sanctuary as scheduled. In Hoi An city (Quang Nam province), tourists take part in some activities such as sightseeing the ancient town, Tra Que vegetable village, cooking classes… Besides, Da Nang port sometimes welcomes some ships with thousands of tourists from the US, Germany…. Reported from Saigontourist, this agency welcomes an average of 17-20 cruise ships a month. These tourists are often high-class, spending and shopping strongly.
Cruise ship tourism is considered as a new trend in 2016. Some travel agencies not only collect domestic but also foreign cruise ship tourists. At present, Vietravel agency is coordinating with some cruise ship travel agencies in the world in offering and selling tours of 5-star cruise ships.
