Quang Nam provincial leader plays host to Director of USAID
(QNO) - On March 11th, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Huynh Khanh Toan welcomed and worked with Mr Christopher Abrams- Director of the Environment and Social Development Office of the USAID (United States Agency of International Development).

This meeting discussed the USAID's investments into the climate change and their supports to the disabled in the province.
Reportedly, the USAID has succeeded in strengthening the ability of disadvantaged people to access vocational training, helping and supporting disabled people, improving communities’ ability to respond, recover from the impacts of natural disasters in Thang Binh district, Dien Ban town as well as many programmes via international non-governmental organizations to help difficult disabled children in Quang Nam.
At the meeting, Mr Toan highly appreciated the positive effects from the USAID’s projects. At the same time, the USAID was suggested to continuously fund the province in coming time in such fields as health, education, climate change, prevention and reduction of natural impacts, overcoming the consequences of war, improving the ability of and helping disabled people to integrate into society.
In reply, Mr Christopher Abrams thanked for warm welcome from the Quang Nam province’s leaders, for the favourable conditions Quang Nam gave to the USAID’s projects in the past time. Mr Christopher Abrams told the first phase of the USAID’s project of supporting climate change response in agricultural sector with the total expenditure of 25 million USD in Quang Nam province and Hue city from May 2016.
