Quang Nam: reduce harassment and increase competitiveness
(QNO) - Quang Nam province was first selected in “Top Ten” of the PCI (Provincial Competititveness Index) 2015 of Vietnam with 61.02 points. The provincial leaders, however, affirmed that Quang Nam should more improve the PCI in the coming years.

The 2015 report on the PCI was announced last month in Ha Noi by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). It marked an active transference of Quang Nam province, jumped from the 14th position in 2014 to the 8th in 2015.
The 2015 PCI was based on the information from 11,7000 businesses including 10,200 private businesses and nearly 1,600 FDI enterprises all over Vietnam.
In Quang Nam, six sub-indexes were improved, including land access, transparency, time cost, informal charges, labor training, proactivity.
According to Chairman of Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu, the 8th position in the PCI 2015 was Quang Nam’s efforts into the solutions to increase competitiveness, reduce harassment and connect businesses in the past time. Instead of “managing enterprises”, Quang Nam has tried to “serve enterprises”. Besides, some other sub-indexes such as market participation, legal institutions, business support services, equal competition also need improving to better the investment environment.
