Technology transfer – the most feasible way to the automobile industry development
(QNO) - On April 20, a delegation from the National Assembly Committee on Science, Technology and Environment led by its Chairman Phan Xuan Dung, made a working visit to the Chu Lai -Truong Hai Auto Manufacture and Assembly Complex. At the working meeting were Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh and representatives from the provincial related services.

The delegation visited the Thaco’s factories and talked about the scientific research, technology application and transfer in auto assembly.
According to Thaco’s representative, 2016 is the second year of the three-year strategy (2015-2017), which helps Thaco ready for the ASEAN regional integration in 2018. Thaco’s aims is to become a multidisciplinary industrial group where automobile production and sales are dominant, and to be one of the leading groups in the ASEAN. Therefore, Thaco will continue to invest and renovate their machinery and technology in order to increase their working capacity and product quality. Over 550 innovation topics have been applied in this complex since 2011. Especially, the state-level scientific and technological project on manufacturing high-class sleeping car branded Vietnam has been done on schedule and achieved remarkable results. Besides, Thaco has continuously registered two more other national level scientific and technological projects.

Mr. Dung appreciated the Thaco’s development and ability to research and apply science and technology to automobile manufacture and assembly. He stressed the importance of cooperating with foreigner enterprises and absorbing technology transfer to Vietnam’s automobile industry. At the same time, he also said that the development of Thaco’s automobile and support industries is so much expected.
The delegation also worked with the Management Board of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone on April 21.
