Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange
(QNO) - The 14th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange will be held in Hoi An city from 15 to 16 August 2016 at Hoi An Ancient Quarter and An Hoi Statues Garden.
At the event, there will be many interesting cultural activities such as: Fashion and handicraft products exhibition, taking photos with Japanese traditional costume- Yukata and Kimono, Japanese calligraphy classes, making lanterns, Origami paper folding and coconut leaf folding arts, Vietnamese children’s folk games … Especially, the reappearance of the wedding procession of Princess Ngoc Hoa and Araki Sotaro- a Japansese businessman is the highlight of the event. Besides, there will also be Japanese Dragon dances and God Dog dances at Japanese bridge and street exchanging performances…
Also on August 16th, Flower Lantern Festival – filial devotion will be held at the An Hoi Statues Garden and Hoi An Ancient quarter. On this occasion, Hoi An city will launch a meat-free day for health and environment.
The local authority expects the spiritual and cultural significance of two events will better the friendship between Vietnam and Japan as well as make the image of Hoi An’s land and people more impressive in the tourists’ heart.
