Tam Ky development strategy: Green growth
(QNO) - The Tam Ky’s speech of Green Growth and Climate Change in urban development Strategy was highly appreciated at Vietnam Forum on Urban Planning and Development towards Green Growth and Climate Change Resilience. The forum was jointly held by UN- Habitat, Ministry of Construction, the People’s Committees (PC) of Quang Nam and Tam Ky city.

According to Mr.Nguyen Minh Nam - Vice Chairman of Tam Ky PC, along with economic development, the city has invested in urban infrastructure in order to build Tam Ky as a green, clean and beautiful city. Besides, the traditional culture, historic destinations have been protected. As a result, on 27Oct, 2015 Tam Ky city received the “ Asian Townscapes Awards” (ATA) by Asian urban research and management organizations.
The city has advocated developing industries and handicrafts associated with urban environment protection. Local agriculture has been restructured under the VietGAP- standard. The quality of tourism and services has been being invested and improved, for example, the park in front of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Monument, Tam Thanh mural village.
Reportedly, General Planning Project of Tam Ky city towards 2030, vision to 2050 (passed in 2014) implemented by Nikken Sekkei Consulting Company (Japan), together with national and international experts is the fundament to build Tam Ky a green city.
