The first prize for the research on Dong Duong Buddhist Institute
(QNO) - The research on “Dong Duong Buddhist Institute – An example of Champa Art” by Ngo Van Doanh has tied for the first prize from the Folk Literature and Arts Association Of Vietnam with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Trung Son’s study on the art of singing and dance at a worship ceremony by Shamans of the Muong ethnic group.

In the "Dong Duong Buddhist Institute – An example of Champa Art", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Doanh illustrates the existence of Dong Duong style, a type of Champa art; and concurrently describes in details the architectural ensemble of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute (in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province). According to Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Doanh, the French researchers discovered Dong Duong Buddhist Institute in the most unique and largest Buddhist architectural complex (with 1,330m long) of Champa in particular and Southeast Asia in general in 1902.

The research also concludes that Dong Duong used to be a typical city of Champa; and that Dong Duong Buddhist Institute was Lakshmindra Lokesvara monastery that was once mentioned.
