JVPF Saitana's supports to victims of Agent Orange
(QNO) - A delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Peace and Friendship Promotion Council in Saitana (JVPF Saitana) led by Mr. Hisashi Suzuki Hisao paid a working visit to Quang Nam on August 3.
The JVPF Saitana has worked in Quang Nam since 2011. They visit and encourage the families with victims exposed to Agent Orange/ Dioxin annually. Up to now, 24 “benevolent houses” has been built under the JVPF’s financial support of over VND 1 billion. According to vice president of the JVPF Hiramatsu Tomoko, the number of such houses will increase in the future. Practically, JY 700,000 has been reserved for building houses for the victims of Agent Orange; JY 379,000 for hearing aids. It is known that Hiramatsu Tomoko is the author of the book “Nguyen Thi Binh – the Woman Changing the World” (published in 2010).
Receiving the delegation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Van Thanh thanked for their supports to the Agent Orange victims’ families in the province. At the same time, he hoped the council to keep on their helps to the others, maintaining the international relations with Vietnam in general and Quang Nam province in particular.
