International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer 2017

(QNO) - The anniversary celebration of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer 2017 was held on September 15 in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) by the Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment.

Come together to protect ozone layer

Ozone layer, the shield to prevent the Earth from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation is depleted. A big ozone hole appeared in South Pole in the 1970s, threatening the life on Earth. The appearance of ozone holes is supposed to result from the strong industrial development, and exhaust fumes from human beings’ daily activities. Vietnam, in attempts to protect the ozone layer, agreed to take part in the Vienna Convention for the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1994. 2017 is the 30th anniversary ceremony of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
