Reported from the Quang Nam provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, more and more South Korean people have visited the province over recent years. Quang Nam welcomed more than 3,800 tourists from South Korea in 2010. The number increased to 192,620 in 2016 and South Korea becomes one of the province’s key tourism markets. In the first 8 months of this year, there were over 170,000 South Korean visitors to Quang Nam. It is hoped that the southern destinations in the province including Tam Thanh mural village (Tam Ky city)- a project funded by South Korean artists will attract more arrivals from this country. Beside cultural exchange, the cooperative relations between the localities of South Korea such as Osan and Yonging (Gyeonggi province), Gwangyang (Jeonnam) and Quang Nam in general and some province’s localities in particular are closer, creating favourable conditions to propagate the province’s images to South Korean tourists.

According to Assistant Chief of the Tam Ky city’s Department of Culture and Sports Dang Tuyet Lan, beside the expansion of the mural village, the city will invest into Ky Anh tunnel- a national historical relic- including the well, country lanes, and its landscape. Particularly, the event of South Korean Cultural Days in Quang Nam province in the coming time will be a good chance for travel agencies to allure more tourists including South Korean people to the locality.
