Start of Truong Son Xanh project in Quang Nam province
(QNO) - The Truong Son Xanh (Green Annamites) project funded by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) was launched in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province on 27 March 2018. The 14 million USD project lasting from 2014 to 2018 aims to support Quang Nam province in adapting to climate change, reducing emission to protect people, landscapes, bio-diversity in the districts of Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Nam Giang, Phuoc Son, Nui Thanh, Nong Son, Hiep Duc, Dai Loc, Phu Ninh and Hoi An city. The project also contributes to bettering the locals’ lives.

Speaking at the project launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh confirmed the stronger cooperative relationship between USAID and Quang Nam through this project, especially in protection of natural resources, and against climate change.
On behalf of Quang Nam leaders, Vice Chairman Thanh thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the USAID for this project. Quang Nam authorities will make every effort to contribute to the project success and effectiveness. At the same time, Mr Thanh hoped for more supports from the USAID to Quang Nam in other fields in the future.
