Hoi An: Bicycle project wins global urban transport awards
(QNO) - A project on the development of bike sharing in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province has won the global urban transport awards organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The awards ceremony will be held in Leipzig, Germany from May 22-25. The project is initiated and launched by the Hoi An City Department of Culture and Information in coordination with HealthBridge Vietnam.
The project is designed to address two main issues: road safety and public health, by developing a sustainable green transport system which focuses on cyclists.
Accordingly, the project will develop a free and low cost shared bicycle programme to create the first private public-private partnership system in Hoi An by linking the existing bicycle rental services of hotels in the city.
The project is aimed at building an eco-city and preserving its historic values as well as improving the quality of life for the people of the ancient city.
