Organic agriculture in Quang Nam province

(QNO) - A seminar on promotion, promulgation and introduction of organic and fresh products of Quang Nam province has just been organized by the Quang Nam Agricultural Extension Centre, with the participation of leaders of provincial agencies and businesses.

The development of organic agriculture is an indispensable direction in Quang Nam province. Recently, Quang Nam has successfully built trademarks for organic and safe agricultural products such as: Ngoc Linh ginseng, Cua Khe fish sauce, Phong Thuy rice and vegetables in Tra Que, Thanh Dong, My Hung. Investment promotion, marketing and introduction of products have been gradually strengthened  as a bridge to support enterprises in investing in agriculture and transfering technology to farmers. At the same time, exploiting the added value of agricultural products through tourism and cultural activities to contribute to improving farmers’ income have been paid attention to.

Many participants at the seminar said market factor is one of the determinants of the success of organic agriculture. Therefore, the province needs to foster more trade cooperation, promotion, introduction and consumption of organic products, support enterprises and farmers to participate in organic farming sustainably and effectively.
