Ngoc Linh ginseng at the value chain approach of economic growth

(QNO) - An ethnic community development forum will jointly be held in Quang Nam by the Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs, the Quang Nam People’s Committee, the United Nations in Vietnam and World Bank on August 15.

The forum focuses on the solution to poverty reduction in ethnic communities via product value chains and that of Vietnamese precious medicinal plants. At the same time, the forum looks for the individuals’ and organizations’ supports and their investment to speed up the value chains of socio-economic development in ethnic communities. It is also a channel on which Ngoc Linh ginseng values and potential is promoted, whereby the national brand name of Ngoc Linh ginseng is built, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

The forum also aims to raise ethnic people’s awareness of planting and preserving Ngoc Linh ginseng and other precious species, to attract investment in regional and mountainous value chain development. On this occasion, the experts attending the forum will have a field trip to Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province).
