Japanese good food

In all the Vietnam-Japan cultural exchanges, Japanese cuisine culture has always been presented to the public. The Japanese living in Hoi An have made a great contribution to the promotion of their cuisine culture. In the “Japanese Cultural Days in Quang Nam” on August 17-19, Genta Miyagawa and some other Japanese living in Hoi An will have a stall of Japanese foods. They hope to bring their culture to Hoi An people and visitors through foods. Hopefully, Japanese food will attract the tourists’ attention, making the event more impressive.

Japanese food is diversified and complicated with 5 colours, 5 tastes, 5 ways of cooking, 5 senses, and 5 rules. Each dish with its historic and cultural values is an art work that can waken the users’ five senses. There are about 10 Japanese restaurants in Hoi An now.

Teppanyaki

Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan (which means iron plate) and yaki (meaning grilled, broiled, or pan-fried). Teppanyaki style is now applied in the Wessia restaurant in Palm Garden hotel.

The guest at a Japanese meal can enjoy the world of tastes and flavours, especially in the Teppanyaki style. It is a Japanese type of haute cuisine, which has been present in Vietnam for a few years. However, it is the first time this style has been presented to the public in Hoi An.

Most of the Japanese restaurants in Hoi An serve Japanese foods. They want the Japanese to Hoi An to feel as if they were at home.

It can be said that Japanese foods have made Hoi An cuisine more diversified, contributing to making Hoi An more attractive to visitors.
