Japanese singer Ueno Yuuka responds to environmental protection in Bay Mau nipa forest
(QNO) - Tourism Goodwill Ambassador Ueno Yuuka (a Japanese singer) had an exchange with local residents and tourists in the Bay Mau nipa forest – an eco-tourism destination in Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province on August 19. The programme was part of the “16th Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange 2018” event.

Hoi An – Quang Nam is one of the first places of Vietnam to set up the relationship with Japan 400 years ago through the Hoi An past trading port as well as the happy marriage between Vietnamese princess Ngoc Hoa and Japanese merchant Araki Sotaro. As a Tourism Goodwill Ambassador of Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange 2018, singer Ueno Yuuka took part in the activities of “For a cleaner Hoi An” and “Smoking - free Hoi An”.

Recently, Hoi An authorities and people have paid much attention to environmental protection, especially the projects of mangrove rehabilitation. The Bay Mau nipa forest has become one of the most interesting destinations in Hoi An city.

Ambassador Ueno Yuuka said her friends and fans in Japan told her about their fun of rowing coracle in this nipa forest. She was very happy to join hands with everybody to protect environment in the Bay Mau nipa forest eco-tourism destination in particular and Hoi An in general.

On the same day, Goodwill Ambassador Ueno Yuuka and the Japanese delegation took a sightseeing tour in the Bay Mau nipa forest.
