Loc Yen - a unique ancient village in Quang Nam

(QNO) - Loc Yen ancient village lies in a beautiful valley in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province). It is surrounded by rivers, streams, and mountains such as Da Giang river, An Son stream, Ran Dan stone hill, Ba Buom mountain, Ban May mountain, Rung Cam mountain, Ho Cho mountain and Mo garden. The only road leading to the village is bendy along the rice fields. The village is divided into two hamlets called Go Tron on the left and Hon Ngang on the right.

In Loc Yen, it is easy to see ancient houses in a typical traditional Vietnamese architecture looming in the lush gardens. Besides, the rows of areca, green fences, stone fences, stone alleys, wells, canals and terraces are what make the village more impressive and attractive. The residents of the village are very Vietnamese. They are friendly, honest and hospitable. All of these features make the village a characteristic cultural space.

Among the ancient houses in Loc Yen, the one owned by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoan may be the most attractive to visitors. It was built in 1850 and completed 3 years later. Its entire framework is made of wood of jackfruit trees. This 100m2 house has 36 pillars, 16 of which are big with the diameter of over 1.5m.

Lately, the plan on local economic development based on farming and ecotourism in the period of 2017-2025 submitted by Tien Phuoc district has been approved. In this plan, Loc Yen village is the core area where ecotourism is implemented.
