Clean shrimp farming technology

The high-tech model of on-sand whiteleg shrimp farming started in October 2018 with an investment capital of over VND 40 billion. It was carried out in the area of about 6.5 ha in Phuoc An hamlet, Binh Hai commune, Thang Binh district. According to Tran Ba Cuong, Technical Director of QNTEK Joint Stock Company (its investor), it is the first shrimp farm of the country and of the region to apply a non-use chemical-based antibiotic and water filtration recirculation system to feed whiteleg shrimp in a high density (more than 350 individuals/m2). Garlic and other natural antibiotic agents have mixed into food to prevent the whiteleg shrimp from becoming infected.

All the shrimps here are well-developed and in the harvest season.

Building a large-scale shrimp farming area

The high-tech model of on-land shrimp farming is in the stage of experiment. The success of this model will ensure the quality of the clean shrimp source that can meet the criteria of domestic and foreign markets.

In the coming time, QNTEK Joint Stock Company will enlarge the area of shrimp farming and hand over the shrimp farming techniques to farmers. The company will build a shrimp processing factory with a capacity of about 20,000 tons/year where all the shrimps raised by using high technology will be processed and exported.

Visiting the high-tech shrimp farm, Vice Chairman Le Tri Thanh highly appreciated the model. He encouraged both QNTEK and farmers and promised to support them to develop this model in the provincial sandy areas such as Thang Binh and Nui Thanh districts. It will contribute to the local life’s improvement and environmental protection.
