(QNO) - The closing ceremony of the 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange 2019 was held at An Hoi Sculpture Garden on August 11 with lots of the feelings.

Closer relations

There were a lot of interesting activities in the 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange 2019 such as handicraft and pictures exhibitions, Japan-tourism introduction among others. It was a good chance for Japan localities to introduce their cultural values, cuisine, and tourism to the Vietnamese and foreign visitors. Hopefully, Vietnamese and Japanese cultural values will be known more through the event.

The success of the event was reflected in the exchange about restoration and conservation, the promotion of cultural values and the close relationship between Hoi An and Japanese localities. The 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange also helps strengthen the relations between Vietnam and Japan.

For future

During the 3-day event of the 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange, there were several commitments and assistance from Japan to Quang Nam and Hoi An in education, employment and environmental treatment. The 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange was significant because it is the 20th anniversary of Hoi An ancient town recognized as a UNESCO’s heritage. It is also the 30th year since the Peace Festival, precursor of the Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange, was held by Sugi Ryotaro.

According to Matsuda Yuuki, Second Secretary at the Japanese Embassy, it is the 400-year-old friendship between Hoi An and Japan that makes the Vietnam- Japan relations.

The success of the 17th Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange 2019 contributed to the closer relationship between Vietnam and Japan. He wished the forever Vietnam-Japan relations and continued Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange.
