Hoi An Lantern Festival in Germany
(QNO) - The 2nd Hoi An Lantern Festival has just been organized in Marktplatz Square, Wernigerode, Germany.
The delegation from Hoi An city, Quang Nam province (Vietnam) brought to the festival a special art programme about cultural features of Hoi An in particular and Quang Nam in general, and Vietnamese specialties.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Armin Willingmann - Minister of Economy, Science and Digitalization of Sachsen-Anhalt (Germany) appreciated the cooperative and twinning relationship between Hoi An and Wernigerode in many fields. He also wished a better relationship. Minister Willingmann also said that the delegation of Saxony-Anhalt will visit Hoi An in the coming time.
Earlier, at the Wernigerode Town Hall, representatives of Hoi An and Wernigerode cities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the two sides during 5 years ahead. It consists of environmental protection and adaption to climate change, human resource training in tourism, taking care of the elderly, exchange programmes between Wernigerode’s Gerhart Hauptmann Grammar school and Kim Dong Secondary School and Tran Quy Cap High School in Hoi An city…
Within the framework of the event, the Hoi An delegation attended the meeting with young businesses from Wernigerode city and Saxony-Anhalt state, visited the waste treatment plant and discussed the outline of Hoi An Garden project in Wernigerode ...
The festival is really a bridge for the relationship between the two cities, enhancing the interest and understanding between Wernigerode and Hoi An people.
