Loc Yen village, a national monument
(QNO) - Loc Yen village (Tien Phuoc, Quang Nam province) is one of four ancient villages of Vietnam that was recognized as national monuments.
Loc Yen village founded in the 15th century is located in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district. It is the first ancient village in Quang Nam to be recognized as a national monument on September 6.
Loc Yen village covers an area of 279ha with 191 households. There are 8 ancient houses that are about 100-150 years old in the village. All the ancient houses here are in pillar house style (nhà rường). It is the alleys, fences, ancient tombs and ancient wells that make Loc Yen village typical. Moreover, the climate here is cool all year round; therefore, there are a lot of kinds of fruit produced in the village such as grapefruit, loong boong, jackfruit.
The cultural characters of Loc Yen village are still maintained over time. The conservation and promotion of cultural values is considered very significant in Loc Yen village, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
