Improving livelihood for ethnic minorities

(QNO) - The subproject for improving sustainable livelihood for ethnic minorities through development of value chains of rattan and medicinal plants to enhance biodiversity conservation in Quang Nam province has just started by the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (VIETCRAFT) and the Green Annamite (Truong Son Xanh) project under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Accordingly, ethnic minorities are supported to grow 100ha of rattan trees, sustainably exploit 50ha of rattan tree under the primary forest canopy, develop the area of medicinal plants and rattan and bamboo knitting…

Reportedly, the subproject costs 57 billion VND, lasting May 2019 to May 2020 in the districts of Dong Giang, Tay Giang, Nam Giang, Nui Thanh and Phuoc Son.
