Thanh Ha pottery: A new national intangible cultural heritage
(QNO) - Thanh Ha pottery in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.
The event took place on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Hoi An ancient town recognized as a UNESCO’s world cultural heritage on December 4. Present at the event were Quang Nam provincial and Hoi An city’s leaders, owners of ancient houses in Hoi An.
At the event, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An People’s Committee Nguyen Van Son expressed his gratitude to all predecessors who founded Hoi An, a place of cultural diversity.
He also thanked all national and international organizations, scientists and experts, artists and artisans, business communities and local residents for their contributions to the conservation and promotion of cultural heritages in Hoi An, making Hoi An more and more attractive to visitors.
Hundreds of ancient houses in Hoi An ancient town are now well preserved. There are over 5 million arrivals to Hoi An in 2019.
On this occasion, the French architectural quarter in Son Phong ward, Hoi An city was recognized as a provincial historical heritage.
