Contemplating Fokienia in Tay Giang
Talking about ecotourism, visitors can’t help mentioning Tay Giang, a mountainous district of Quang Nam province.
Tay Giang is known as a border district between Quang Nam province and Sekong (Laos). It is an ideal place for those who like exploration and adventure.
Coming to Tay Giang, visitors shouldn’t ignore the 1,500-metre mount of Chơlang, where a 50-hectare forest of ancient Rhododendrons has just been found.
Sunset on the Que mount is also another suggestion when visitors come to Tay Giang. The Que mount is about 1400 meters high. It is said that there used to be an old cinnamon tree at the place of the Tay Giang community-tourism area.
Another specialty of Tay Giang landscapes is the Fokienia forest which was recognized as the heritage trees in 2016. Visitors to the forest can contemplate over 2,000 Fokienia trees, among which there are some at the age of 700.
Guoi house is a cultural symbol of Co Tu people in Tay Giang. It is a place for visitors to enjoy Co Tu cultural characteristics such as Gong dance, Ta-vak wine, rice cooked in bamboo cylinders…
Visitors can go to Tay Giang from Da Nang city by taking National Way 14G or from Cay Coc T-junction of Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province.
