Propaganda against Covid-19 in the highlands

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the information about the epidemic and the ways to fight against it have been provided quickly and exactly for people in the highlands of Quang Nam province.

Voice of village elders

In Tra Nu commune (Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province), village elders have been invited to the propaganda against Covid-19 and the monitoring of quarantine cases in place.

One of them, village elder Pham Viet Cuong has always accompanied propagandists since the Covid-19 epidemic returned in late June, 2020.

He went to each ethnic family, using Co language to talk to Co people there, instructing them on how to wear face masks and to wash hands accurately.

According to village elder Cuong, Co people are not worried or alarmed but enthusiastic about the Covid-19 prevention and control.

Besides, Tra Nu commune has provided people with nearly 500 bars of soap and 1,700 face masks. In spirit of “Fighting the epidemic is like fighting against the enemy”, the commune has made every effort to minimize the Covid-19 spread in the community.

In Nam Giang district, the information about Covid-19 has been broadcasted via speakers on their motorbikes by the border guard forces.

Although it is difficult to travel in the mountainous border areas, the staffs of Dac Pring Border Guard Station have tried their best to timely provide people with the information about Covid-19, the ways to prevent and control the epidemic.

Besides Vietnamese language, some other languages which are spoken by the local ethnic groups are also used in their propaganda against Covid-19.

So, most of the residents there understand and grasp the information, actively participating in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.
