Student’s invention of automatic thermometer
Nguyen Dang Quoc Hung, a student specializing Physics from Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, had the idea of an automatic thermometer when thinking of the risk of Covid-19 spread from using portable thermometer now.
The idea was supported wholeheartedly by Hung’s parents and school leaders. Hung started to write the programme, designing and assembling parts of the automatic thermometer.
Over a week later, two automatic thermometers came into operation at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, contributing to the Covid-19 prevention and control.
It takes about 2 seconds for Hung’s automatic thermometer to measure a person’s temperature. Moreover, they are non-contact devices, hence limiting the spread of Covid-19.
The invention is the pride of not only Hung but of all the students at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted. It is really useful, helping save time and labours.
However, Hung’s thermometer can’t calculate the affect of environment temporature on human teperature, which, according to Hung, is his regret and he tries to improve.
