Quang Nam: rural tourism development
Rural tourism has recently developed in Quang Nam and become attractive to visitors, especially to foreigners. It is considered as one of the solutions for sustainable tourism development.
To exploit and promote the potential of rural tourism, Quang Nam has implemented several plans for developing community-based tourism with a lot of support from the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the European Union (EU), and the Foundation for International Development/ Relief (FIDR).
Some typical destinations are An My village (Cam Chau commune, Hoi An city), Triem Tay village (Dien Ban town) and Tra Nhieu village (Duy Xuyen district).
Rural tourism in Quang Nam focus on introducing traditional villages and craft villages; exploiting the locals’ daily life activities, local cultural features and natural landscapes.
In Hoi An, there are a lot of sites popular with visitors, such as Tra Que vegetable village, Cam Nam village, Bay Mau nipa forest, Cu Lao Cham fishing village, Thanh Ha pottery village among others.
In the mountainous area, the natural and cultural spaces are attractive to visitors, including Ta Bhing in Nam Giang; Bho Hoong and Dho Roong in Dong Giang; Fokienia heritage-tree forest, Rhododendron forest and ironwood forest in Tay Giang; Loc Yen ancient village in Tien Phuoc; falls and caves; local foods and drinks. Rural tourism has dramatically developed for 5 years.
Besides the famous tourist attractions such as Hoi An, Cham Islands and My Son, Quang Nam has build some new destinations such as Hon Kem Da Dung and Dai Binh village in Nong Son district, Tam Hai commune in Nui Thanh district, Ta Lang community-based tourism villange, Le mountain pass in Que Son district, and Tam Thanh in Tam Ky.
Along with the planning and building of tourist attractions, Quang Nam is also paying more attaction to the problem of human resources for tourism, building tourism infrastructure and giving other sultions for the local sustainable tourism development.
