USAID Green Annamities
The USAID Green Annamities project closing workshop took place in Da Nang city on November 25.
USAID (U.S Agency for International Development) Viet Nam Mission Director Ann Marie Yastishock, leaders of the Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committees and other representatives were present at the event.
Over the past four years, the Green Annamites (Truong Son Xanh) project under USAID spent 23.9 million USD supporting to protect biodiversity and improve local communities’ livelihoods.
Speaking at the event, Director Ann Marie Yastishock said the success of the Green Annamities project results from the close coordination between USAID and the People's Committees of Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue provinces. It has contributed to promoting the development cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S.
In the next five years, USAID will continue to support biodiversity conservation in Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue through the projects such as Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Forest Management.
The two new projects will continue to adopt an effective approach which was used in the Green Annamites project, thereby bringing positive benefits to other provinces and communities in Vietnam.
