Under the title “Da Nang- Centre for Central Vietnam’s Tourism, a safe and attractive tourism destination in 2021”, the conference aimed to introduce tourist attractions in Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien-Hue to Japan.

In the context of Covid-19, the conference was considered as a big success. It was a good chance for Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien-Hue to introduce their tourist attractions to Japanese travel agencies and people.

According to Yakabe Yoshinori, Chief Representative of the Consular Office of Japan in Da Nang, Da Nang becomes more and more important in Japan’s “Free and open Indo-Pacific” strategy because Da Nang- Vietnam is linked with Yangon- Myanmar through the East-West Economic Corridor.

Besides, the number of Japanese businesses operating in Da Nang and its neighbours is steadily going up. There are about 300 businesses now. Despite Covid-19, Japanese investment in Da Nang is still maintained.

The recording of the conference is available at https://www.jata-net.or.jp/membership/topics/2020/201019_jotcwebinarinfo.html
